A trailblazer in and out of the pool, Novella Calligaris made history as Italy’s first Olympic swimming medallist at just 17 years old, setting European records and winning multiple medals at world championships. Her career, which began at 13, saw her break barriers and redefine possibilities in sports. After retiring at 20, Calligaris transitioned into journalism and sports leadership, becoming the first female president of the Associazione Azzurri Olimpici d’Italia in 2021.
